About us

australiati.me is a small collection of browser-based time tools — alarm clocks, countdown timers, date calculators and a few odds and ends like zodiac and half-birthday calculators. There's no app to download and nothing to install: every tool runs directly in your web browser, on the page you're looking at right now.

Why no accounts, no installs

None of the tools here ask you to sign up, log in, or hand over an email address. That's a deliberate choice, not a missing feature. An alarm clock or a countdown timer doesn't need to know who you are to do its job — it just needs a time, and a browser tab to keep watching the clock until that time arrives.

Because everything runs in the browser, every alarm and timer works off your own device's clock, not a server somewhere else. That means the time shown always matches whatever your phone, tablet or computer thinks the time is, including your local time zone and any daylight saving adjustment it's already applied. It also means the one thing that actually matters for these tools to work: the tab has to stay open. Close it, and the browser stops watching the clock. Put the device to sleep or silence it, and the alarm may not make a sound even if the tab is technically still open. These are limits of what a browser can do, not bugs, and they're worth keeping in mind for anything you're relying on.

Who's behind it

This site is built and maintained by one person, not a company. It started as a simple alarm clock page and has grown, one tool at a time, based on what seemed genuinely useful — mostly for the same everyday things everyone deals with: catching a train, timing a nap, working out how many days are left until something, or settling an argument about someone's star sign.

It's a work in progress, updated when time allows, and it'll keep growing the same way it started — a tool at a time.
