How to use the online timer
Meditation timing exists to remove one job from your mind so it can actually settle into the practice — without a timer running, some part of attention is always half-tracking how long you've been sitting there, which works directly against what meditation is trying to achieve. A set duration, decided before you start, lets that concern disappear entirely until the buzzer sounds.
This collection covers a handful of related but distinct practices: mindfulness aimed at present-moment awareness, straightforward relaxation aimed at physically lowering tension, and meditation specifically aimed at easing into sleep, which is deliberately structured differently from a daytime session since the goal here is drowsiness rather than alertness. Session lengths vary accordingly, from a few minutes of focused breathing up to twenty minutes or more for a fuller practice.
Get comfortable, start the relevant timer, and let a wandering mind be exactly that — noticed, and gently returned to the practice, rather than a reason to stop.
